About The Position

The Officer, Safety & Security works at an Iron Mountain data center and interacts daily with everyone entering the facility, including customers, employees, visitors, and vendors. The officer is expected to maintain a professional demeanor and communicate courteously. Training, uniforms, footwear, duty gear, and personal protective equipment are provided.

The role helps protect people, property, and restricted areas by monitoring security and safety systems, conducting patrols and inspections, documenting activity, responding to incidents, and provisioning access for authorized individuals. Patrols take place inside and outside the facility, on foot and by vehicle, throughout the year and in all weather conditions.

Requirements

• Meet all job requirements, including customer-contracting requirements that require U.S. citizenship.
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Multitask across several security and ticket queue systems and adapt as work tasks change during the day.
• Pay close attention to detail and follow documented processes and Iron Mountain’s safety code.
• Be comfortable with technology and perform basic computer data entry.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred experience with access control systems and ticketing system software.

Responsibilities

• Prevent unauthorized individuals and vehicles from entering the facility or restricted areas using security technology.
• Monitor safety, security, and fire alarm systems, as well as onsite CCTV, and respond as needed.
• Conduct visual inspections of key assets and locations through foot and vehicle patrols inside and outside the facility, in all weather conditions and throughout the year.
• Document daily activity and report significant security and safety incidents.
• Assess and de-escalate situations that may threaten the safety or security of people in the facility.
• Electronically provision temporary or permanent access for authorized individuals.
