About The Position

The Officer, Safety and Security interacts daily with customers, employees, visitors, and vendors entering the facility, maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor. The role helps protect people and facility assets by controlling access, monitoring security and safety systems, conducting patrols, documenting activity, and responding to incidents. Officers receive training, uniforms, footwear, duty gear, and personal protective equipment.

Requirements

Meet all requirements, including customer-contracting requirements requiring U.S. citizenship.
Communicate effectively and clearly convey messages and requirements to customers and team members.
Multitask across several security and ticket queue systems and adapt to changing work tasks.
Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to understand and follow documented processes and Iron Mountain's safety code.
Perform basic computer data entry.

Nice To Haves

Technology aptitude, with preferred experience in access control systems and ticketing system software.

Responsibilities

Prevent unauthorized individuals and vehicles from entering the facility or restricted areas using security technology.
Monitor safety, security, and fire alarm systems, as well as onsite CCTV, and respond as needed.
Conduct visual inspections of key assets and facility locations through roving foot and vehicle patrols, indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions throughout the year.
Document daily activity and report significant security and safety incidents.
Assess and de-escalate situations that may threaten the safety or security of people at the facility.
Electronically provision temporary or permanent access for authorized individuals.
Interact professionally and courteously with customers, employees, visitors, and vendors.
