About The Position

The Ventura County District Attorney's Office is seeking a forward-thinking technical leader for the Office Systems Coordinator III/IV role. This position will bridge the gap between complex network infrastructure and daily legal operations, driving departmental efficiency through expertise in system automation and a foundational understanding of AI technologies. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver capable of managing high-level projects independently, such as hybrid cloud migrations and cybersecurity hardening, while also providing mentorship and supervision to technical staff in a mission-driven environment. This role supports and coordinates tasks related to office automation systems, requiring a working ability to conduct feasibility studies, problem analysis, conceptual systems design, micro-computer programming, occasional systems maintenance and repair, and analysis/recommendations for new equipment purchases and vendor liaison.

Requirements

  • Extensive to progressively responsible experience in automated office systems coordination which has led to the acquisition of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Excellent written communication skills must be demonstrated in the application and responses to the supplemental questions.
  • Experience with Design, configuration, and administration of Microfocus ZENWorks, CheckPoint Harmony, VMware ESXi, and Microsoft Windows Servers.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Scripting, and Task Automation.
  • Experience with Azure/M365 administration; DHCP; DNS; and Active Directory (Group Policy and User/Group Management).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, CJIS) and endpoint protection.
  • Evaluation of complex network requirements and resolving LAN, WAN, and Internet-related connectivity issues.
  • Foundational understanding of AI concepts, prompt engineering, and the ethical/security considerations of AI integration in a government or legal environment.
  • Knowledge of AI capabilities, limitations, and practical applications (e.g., data summarization, workflow automation) within a professional office environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Office Systems Coordinator III: completion of pertinent office systems coursework with four (4) or more years of related experience.
  • Office Systems Coordinator IV: completion of pertinent office systems coursework with five (5) or more years of related experience to include one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • An Associate's degree or 30 semester units in information systems or a related field from an accredited college or university may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree or 60 semester units in information systems or a related field from an accredited college/university may substitute for two (2) years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates software product and hardware configuration and installation of individual personal computers, local area networks, and cloud-based environments.
  • Provides technical assistance for user interface of office systems and large computer systems with ITSD specialists.
  • May perform feasibility studies, minor systems design, and micro-computer application development as required by the department/agency.
  • May provide occasional systems maintenance and repair.
  • May assist (OSC III) or assists (OSC IV) management of department/agency in establishing priorities and planning office automation needs.
  • Assists with vendor liaison, coordinates technical evaluation of products and product procurement with the Information Technology Services Department (ITSD).
  • May perform micro-computer programming functions for users.
  • May develop training programs, conduct training sessions, and train department/agency personnel on automated office systems use.
  • May troubleshoot ongoing department/agency problems associated with automated office systems and refer repairs to Information Systems staff.
  • Provides data communication analysis and support.
  • Develops systems procedures for department/agency users.
  • May supervise applications under development by staff.
  • May perform the most complex functions and provide supervision to subordinate staff (OSC IV).
  • Implements and monitors cybersecurity protocols to ensure compliance with governmental data standards.
