This position is for a Systems Administrator III/IV who is passionate about human space exploration and understanding the origins of the universe. Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area and normally possess 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Strong background in understanding Windows domain architecture, Active Directory, Linux operating systems/network security, and load balancing.
  • Knowledge of latest Windows Server operating systems, latest Linux Operating Systems, and virtualization technologies.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or university and from 5-15 years of progressive, relevant experience.
  • Experience in the following technologies: Windows Operating Systems 2022+, Linux Operating Systems – current various distributions, Splunk, Sentinel One (S1) Endpoint Detection Software, BigFix operations, Virtualization technologies, Veeam Backup Software, Cloud-based server administration, Cluster computing with related application experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance and operations tasks related to system administration in a multi-server environment.
  • Provide maintenance and performance tuning of the virtual environment utilizing latest versions of various virtualization software and support tools.
  • Oversee patch remediation and software deployment.
  • Ensure all backup/restore operations are effective.
  • Maintain and enhance system security across the environment.
  • Monitor systems and produce required reports to maintain documented service levels.
  • Provide support for local and shared services (account management, storage arrays, disaster recovery, etc.).
  • Update documentation and maintain configuration control for the environment.
  • Manage multiple projects for improvements to the infrastructure.
  • Perform physical server installation into the server racks and removal from server racks.
  • Perform server hard drive replacements.
  • Provide Active Directory support for user permissions.
  • Complete server shutdown and power ups during hurricane season or general scheduled power outages.
  • Make any approved software install requests.
  • General server and network configuration.
  • Support Cloud Migration and Cloud Server and Network Operations.
  • Perform other duties as required.
