About The Position

The Systems Administrator III/IV will perform daily maintenance and operations tasks related to system administration in a multi-server environment. This role involves providing maintenance and performance tuning of the virtual environment utilizing the latest versions of various virtualization software and support tools. The position oversees patch remediation and software deployment, ensures all backup/restore operations are effective, and maintains and enhances system security across the environment. Responsibilities include monitoring systems and producing required reports to maintain documented service levels, providing support for local and shared services (account management, storage arrays, disaster recovery, etc.), and updating documentation and maintaining configuration control for the environment. The role also involves managing multiple projects for infrastructure improvements, performing physical server installation and removal from racks, and server hard drive replacements. Additionally, the Systems Administrator will provide Active Directory support for user permissions, complete server shutdowns and power-ups during hurricane season or general scheduled power outages, and make approved software install requests. General server and network configuration, support for Cloud Migration and Cloud Server and Network Operations, and performing other duties as required are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area and normally possess 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Strong background in understanding Windows domain architecture, Active Directory, Linux operating systems/network security, and load balancing.
  • Knowledge of latest Windows Server operating systems, latest Linux Operating Systems, and virtualization technologies.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or university and from 5-15 years of progressive, relevant experience.
