About The Position

This position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical systems and equipment within the district. The role involves planning, scheduling, and supervising work, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and district standards, and managing budgets and resources effectively. The Coordinator will also be involved in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs and responding to emergency repair needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in mechanical systems maintenance and repair, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or coordination role.
  • Thorough knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance software and work order systems.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and building codes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management).
  • Certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical trades.
  • Experience in a large institutional or public sector environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Plan, schedule, and supervise the work of maintenance staff and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and district standards.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Respond to and manage emergency repair situations.
  • Manage budgets, track expenses, and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Inspect work sites to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventory, and repair history.
  • Collaborate with other departments, architects, and engineers on new construction and renovation projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance staff.
  • Prepare reports on maintenance activities, equipment status, and budget performance.
