About The Position

The Oregon Military Department is recruiting for an Office Specialist 2. This is a permanent full-time state position located at the Rees Training Center in Hermiston, Oregon. This position is represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees’ (AFSCME) union. This recruitment announcement will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur. Requirements

  • Two (2) years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents.
  • An associate degree in any field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record or reliable alternate mode of transportation.
  • This position requires travel within the geographic boundaries of the assigned maintenance area.
  • Must have and maintain a favorable Criminal background History check and be able to obtain and maintain a favorable Department of Defense National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Suitability Determination (T1).
  • Employee is required to maintain a drug/alcohol free workplace in accordance with OMD Drug/Alcohol CPM’s, Policies, and the Statewide Drug Free Workplace Policy 50-000-01.
  • A current resume that clearly describes your experience and/or education related to the requirements of the position and demonstrates that you meet the minimum requirements of the position as listed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook and IEMS (Integrated Engineering Management Systems).

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Facility Manager and Maintenance Operations Supervisor with administrative and clerical duties, serves as the facility receptionist, disperses mail, and assists with vehicle checkout and scheduling.
  • Provides administrative support to the fire program, sorting, researching documents, filing, processing and correlating.
