About The Position

Southern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association (SSRAA) SSRAA’s mission is to enhance and rehabilitate salmon production in southern Southeast Alaska to the optimum social and economic benefit of salmon users. The Southern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association (SSRAA) is seeking a highly organized and adaptable Office Manager to support administrative operations at its Ketchikan headquarters. This is a key, long-term position within the organization, providing essential support to headquarters operations while coordinating across all departments and remote hatchery sites throughout southern Southeast Alaska. SSRAA operates seven hatcheries, multiple remote release sites, and is governed by a 21-member Board of Directors. This position reports directly to the General Manager and serves as a central administrative resource for the organization. This role is ideal for a self-directed professional who takes ownership of their work and thrives in a small, collaborative environment. The Office Manager serves as the primary administrative hub for SSRAA by supporting daily office operations, coordinating Board activities, assisting with financial processes, and maintaining critical organizational systems. This position may be structured between 30–40 hours per week to accommodate the right candidate’s schedule. Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Google docs
  • Working knowledge of ZOOM or equivalent web based meeting platforms
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Possess a valid driver license with good driving record
  • Belief in SSRAA’s mission statement
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must be able to recognize critical components of a process and adapt as needed
  • Ability to work as a team and be a problem solver
  • Maintain confidentiality when appropriate
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds and do light physical and demanding mental activities.
  • Ability to work at a desk and with computers for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of data entry into bookkeeping software programs
  • Familiarity with salmon fisheries and salmon hatchery organizations in the State of Alaska
  • Prior experience coordinating large meetings and travel arrangements

Responsibilities

  • Performs word processing, proofing, copying, distribution, and filing of wide variety of assignments, including the Board of Directors (BOD) packets and general correspondence for multiple managers.
  • Administers travel reservations and arrangements for staff and Board members, including coordinating and scheduling company flights in collaboration with remote site managers.
  • Assists with or processes orders for stock and inventory and distributes office supplies and other materials to all facilities, sites, and projects as needed.
  • Cross trained to assist with all A/P & A/R daily maintenance duties as needed, executing payments and deposits as directed.
  • Ensures quorum at all BOD and committee meetings, arranges meeting place, coordinates catering and set-up.
  • Attends all BOD and most committee meetings to serve as the primary minute taker.
  • Responsible for all facets of the annual BOD election and acts as the Election Supervisor.
  • Administers SSRAA website, social media accounts, and outreach.
  • Assist with records retention, archival, and destruction.
  • Maintains DMV and USCG vehicle and vessel registrations, and tracks permits and lease schedules to ensure timely payment
  • Answer phones, transfer calls, and maintain contact lists.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
