About The Position

The Office Manager role involves providing exceptional customer service and accurately performing a wide range of cash handling activities. These include managing accounts receivable and payable, processing daily bank deposits, handling ATM functions, reporting soda machine money, conducting Western Union transactions, selling money orders and lottery items, counting cashier tills, performing safe audits, balancing cash drawers, processing coupons, managing return check processes, posting charge accounts, and accepting gas and utility payments. The position also requires answering and transferring telephone calls, emailing deposit information to the corporate office, and preparing various office reports. The individual must be proficient in operating office machines such as computers, FAX machines, calculators, time clocks, VCRs, and cash registers. Depending on the location, secondary functions may include stocking, ordering, and selling cigarette and tobacco products, providing direction to cashiers, ordering store supplies, training other office employees, and working with payroll reports and time cards. The role may involve supervising and directing other office employees when instructed by store management. Physical demands include the ability to lift and move items, stand for extended periods, and possess full range of motion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional and friendly customer service
  • Ability and knowledge to accurately perform cash handling activities including but not limited to: Accounts receivable & Payable, daily bank deposits, ATM functions, soda machine money reports, Western Union transactions, selling money orders, selling lottery items, counting cashier tills, performing safe audits, cash drawer balancing, coupon processing, return check processes, posting charge accounts, accept gas and utility payments, and other cash handling activities that may become necessary
  • Answer telephone and transfer calls
  • Email deposit information to corporate office
  • Ability and knowledge to prepare all office reports; reports may vary upon location
  • Ability to operate office machines and equipment including but not limited to computer, FAX machine, calculator, time clock, VCR, cash register
  • May supervise & direct other office employees in absence of other office supervision; if so instructed by store management
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Stock, order and sell cigarette & tobacco products (Depending upon location)
  • Provide direction to cashiers in absence of cashier supervisor
  • Order store supplies
  • Train other office employees
  • May work with payroll reports and time cards
  • Ability to operate cashier equipment/systems
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing over 10 pounds
  • Perform all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy
