About The Position

This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Administrative Services is recruiting for an Office Assistant 2 located in Juneau, Alaska! This role helps connect Alaskans and visitors with the hunting, fishing and trapping opportunities across the state by selling licenses, permits and tags. The position involves connecting with customers and statewide Fish and Game staff to clear up regulation and licensing questions over the phone, via email and to walk-in customers. Other responsibilities include entering data for licenses sold from paper books to assist vendors in low internet access zones and rural communities. The mission of the Division of Administrative Services is to provide administrative support to the various divisions of Fish and Game. The Licensing Section of the Administrative Services team assists the public with navigating rules and regulations put forward to sustain our fishing and hunting opportunities for future generations through the license sales program and record keeping of the licenses sold in accordance with applicable records retention laws.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • One year of experience that includes clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs.
  • Possess a regular driver's license and be 18 years of age or older (if required by specific position).
  • Skill in typing (if required by specific position).
