About The Position

This position supports the Reemployment Benefits team by organizing correspondence and electronic case records. Responsibilities include reviewing incoming documents, entering information into a case management system, preparing routine letters, and updating tracking tools. The role also involves answering routine questions from injured workers and other customers, and directing them to the appropriate staff. As the employee gains experience, they will work with experienced staff to build skills in case processing, records management, and public service. The Division of Workers' Compensation administers Alaska's workers' compensation system, and the Reemployment Benefits team assists injured workers in remaining at or returning to work. This position is crucial for maintaining organized, accurate, and timely case management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • One year of experience that includes clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs.
  • Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  • Customer Service: Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  • Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
