About The Position

This position serves as the first point of contact for the Division's Juneau office and helps ensure the public receives prompt, professional assistance. You will greet visitors, answer and route telephone calls, monitor the Division's shared email account, and direct questions and documents to the appropriate staff. You will receive, date-stamp, scan, distribute, and maintain incoming mail and filings; assist with outgoing mail and routine office records; and provide general clerical support using Microsoft Office and the Division's case management system. The position offers a good introduction to workers' compensation and state service, with training provided on procedures and systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • One year of experience that includes clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs.
  • Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  • Customer Service: Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  • Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.

  • Reading Comprehension: Understands and interprets written material, including technical material, rules, regulations, instructions, reports, charts, graphs, or tables; applies what is learned from written material to specific situations.
