This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Office Assistant 2 answers the main phone for the Office of Public Advocacy (OPA), greets clients and the general public, and performs a wide range of reception services on behalf of the Anchorage office. These services include receiving and prioritizing inquiries and incoming and outgoing mail; sorting and preparing daily court documents for delivery; electronic filing; redacting confidential information; and other duties as assigned. The Office of Public Advocacy provides legal advocacy and guardianship services to vulnerable Alaskans. With offices in Anchorage, Juneau, Fairbanks, Kenai, Palmer, and Bethel, OPA advocates for abused and neglected children in protective proceedings; provides public guardianship for incapacitated adults; and provides court-appointed attorneys for respondents in adult guardianship proceedings, parents in child in need of aid cases, and defendants in criminal cases.
