The Office Assistant position will provide excellent customer service to our patients and will assist with a variety of administrative tasks and duties. The Office Assistant team is an integral part of our organization and is the center of organizing and running the daily operations of our practice. This position will provide Front desk services in a high volume and fast-paced primary care setting. Other duties may include: customer service call center coverage, establishing new patients, routine outbound appointment scheduling, insurance verification, accurate cash handling and record keeping, data entry and verification of client demographic information. This position must demonstrate excellent customer service both in person and via phone for the Community Health Centers clientele. You will function as a Front Desk Services member in a team setting to provide assistance to the patients and clients of Community Health Centers of Lane County. Greets patients, assesses their insurance status and checks them in for their appointment. Receives, transfers or refers calls to proper sources; provides complex or technical information, which requires the interpretation of office or program policies and procedures in order to facilitate office operations or assist the public; meets and greets the public and directs individuals to appropriate staff. Communicates to back office via staff messaging and telephone encounters as appropriate, in the electronic medical record. Accurate cash handling and record keeping. Establish and maintain solid working relationships through communication, cooperation and positive interactions with all patients, employees, staff and providers.
