About The Position

This recruitment is for an Office Assistant 2 position within the Alaska State Troopers, specifically located at the Soldotna State Trooper Post. The role involves greeting and assisting the public in person and by phone, performing clerical functions to support law enforcement, complex data entry, case research, and facilitating the transmission of incident reports. Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • One year of experience that includes clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs.
  • Must be able to work with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to work well with others.
  • Must submit to a fingerprint based criminal history background check.
  • Must read, understand, and agree to an agreement of confidentiality.
  • Must fill in the Education section of the application to verify education used to meet qualifications.
  • Must provide copies of transcripts to verify educational credentials.
  • All work experiences used to meet minimum qualifications must be documented in the application package, including employer’s name, job title, dates of employment, and whether employment was full or part-time.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist the public with a wide variety of requests both in person and by phone.
  • Perform necessary clerical functions in support of law enforcement.
  • Perform complex data entry.
  • Conduct case research.
  • Facilitate the transmission of incident reports to the District Attorney’s Office.
