About The Position

Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC) is seeking an Off-Site and Virtual Program Instructor. This position serves as the Off-Site and Virtual Program Instructor and is responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and providing/monitoring the delivery of virtual instructional services and off-site partnership programming for WWRC participants enrolled in community college, technical school, and other external training programs. The instructor ensures that participants receive the instructional support, remediation, and accommodations necessary to successfully engage in partner-based training and progress toward meaningful employment outcomes. The role also works with supervisors to create a comprehensive program schedule for participants when they are off site, as well as a remediation schedule for when they are onsite at WWRC.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of career and technology skills and competencies in the multiple industries, teaching methods and techniques, special education regulations, behavior modification techniques, employment adaptations and accommodations, disability characteristics, assessment techniques.
  • Skill in classroom management, industrial design and development, communication, curriculum implementation, planning, and instruction.
  • Ability to teach students with disabilities, work with others, make decisions, perform problem solving, work independently, obtain and maintain work-based learning sites with local businesses and employers, develop individualized educational plans
  • A Collegiate Professional License or Technical Professional License issued by the Virginia Department of Education (or equivalent issued by another state).
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered but the applicant must be eligible to obtain the required licensure within a three-year period.
  • Fingerprint based criminal history check will be required of the finalist.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and delivers virtual and off-site instructional support for WWRC participants enrolled in community colleges, technical schools, and other partner programs.
  • Monitors student progress, provides remediation, ensures accommodations, and serves as the primary contact for partner institutions.
  • Coordinate enrollment, onboarding, and participation in virtual/off site programs.
  • Support students with virtual platforms, coursework, and technology needs.
  • Communicate with WWRC staff, partner institutions, and instructors.
  • Monitor progress, identify barriers, and provide instructional or behavioral interventions.
  • Ensure accessibility and assist with accommodation requests.
  • Maintain accurate documentation (90%+ standard).
  • Provide remediation and supplemental instruction as needed.
  • Use data to improve programming and integrate new technologies.
  • Develop orientation materials and supplemental instruction to support virtual learning readiness and partner program requirements.
  • Ensures processes and supports are current and effective.
  • Create materials for digital literacy, study skills, and program expectations.
  • Design remediation aligned with academic or technical needs.
  • Train partner faculty/staff on disability awareness and accommodations.
  • Update procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate technology access, testing accommodations, and proctoring.
  • Promotes WWRC’s virtual/off site programming and maintains strong relationships with partner institutions.
  • Market programs professionally and conduct outreach to expand partnerships.
  • Complete routine virtual or on-site check ins.
  • Monitor outcomes and adjust supports or strategies based on data.
  • Provide excellent customer service to partners and participants.
  • Collaborate with the Rehabilitation Team to support employment outcomes.
  • Actively contributes to team efforts, committees, and agency initiatives while maintaining compliance and professional growth.
  • Attend Rehabilitation Team meetings to support virtual/off site instruction needs.
  • Participate in department, Center, and interagency committees.
  • Assist with events such as graduations or recognition activities.
  • Complete assignments independently and on schedule.
  • Follow all Agency and Center policies.
  • Complete required annual training.
