About The Position

The Ocean Export Agent ensures timely and accurate movement of freight and information while providing exceptional customer service within the Ocean Export Department. The role supports the ocean export process, maintains accurate operational records, tracks shipments, follows applicable regulations and customer procedures, and contributes to operational efficiency. The position reports within the Ocean Export team structure to the Ocean Export Lead Agent, Supervisor, and Manager.

Requirements

• 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, comprehend, and communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
• Proactive approach and strong organizational skills.
• Good computer skills, including Excel and Word.
• Fluent in English.

Nice To Haves

• Understanding of the ocean documentation process.
• Hazardous Materials certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the operational system.
• Track and trace Ocean Export files and provide reporting.
• Meet internal and external compliance requirements in accordance with government regulations.
• Understand department process flow and identify best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure each customer’s standard operating procedures are in place and updated in the DLSOPs.
• Manage overseas communications and respond promptly to internal and external emails and requests.
• Escalate problems to management when necessary.
