Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
About The Position
Powerback is hiring an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide patient-centered rehabilitation services in an in-facility setting. The role implements occupational therapy programs and activities, follows established recovery plans, and delivers therapy treatments. The assistant works to restore, reinforce, and enhance patients’ physical abilities and independence, while addressing each patient as an individual and ensuring patients and their families receive high-quality, compassionate care. The position involves adapting to patient needs, collaborating with peers, and making referrals when appropriate. The role reports to the Director of Rehab.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program according to AOTA and ACOTE standards.
- Initial certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state of practice.
Responsibilities
- Implement occupational therapy programs and activities.
- Follow developed patient recovery plans.
- Deliver therapy treatments.
- Help restore, reinforce, and enhance patients’ physical abilities and independence.
- Provide individualized, compassionate care to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with peers and make referrals to help patients receive appropriate care.
