Occupational Therapist PRN
About The Position
Sunnyvale Post Acute is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist (OTR) for PRN/on-call work in Sunnyvale, California. The role provides flexible coverage across weekdays and weekends based on facility census and departmental needs, including weekday evaluations and weekend patient-care coverage. New graduates are welcome, with clinical mentorship and support from experienced clinicians. The therapist provides resident-centered occupational therapy services in a collaborative rehabilitation environment. The facility describes specialized treatment spaces, including an outdoor patio for functional and activities-of-daily-living therapy, and therapy equipment including ACP equipment, OmniVR, and OmniCycle. The listed pay range is $57–$67 per hour.
Requirements
- Current, valid Occupational Therapist (OTR) license in good standing with the State of California.
- Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a passion for adult/geriatric rehabilitation.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or post-acute rehabilitation setting is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans and obtain necessary physician approvals.
- Provide skilled occupational therapy services in accordance with physician orders.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in compliance with state regulations.
- Assist nursing staff with training Restorative Aides.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and communicate patient progress, challenges, and adjusted goals.
- Attend patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehabilitation team meetings as needed.
