About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Memphis is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Occupational Therapists play a central role in providing compassionate treatment and care. This PRN/per-diem, as-needed position is located in Memphis, Tennessee, inside Methodist University, and is scheduled on weekdays only. Compensation is $55.00 per hour.

The position includes an extensive orientation program. Strong performance and dedication may lead to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) benefits after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• BLS certification, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment.
• Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants (OTAs), as well as occupational therapy and COTA students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment.
• Participate in continuing education seminars and in-services.
