About The Position

TMC Bonham Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital that includes both primary care and specialty physicians. The Critical Access Hospital, offering both inpatient and outpatient services along with 24-hour emergency services. The Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Program was established to assure access to healthcare services for rural residents. The program provides rural acute care hospitals with a range of opportunities for service enhancement and quality of care improvement. Quality healthcare and patient safety is our goal. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program of Occupational Therapy
  • Licensed by the State of Texas required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines must be completed during new hire orientation prior to working in a clinical setting.
  • Must be able to commute between facilities in a timely manner.
  • Strong knowledge of advanced therapy skills and competencies.
  • Demonstrates a caring, friendly & professional attitude & the ability to encourage & support others.
  • Must be able to communicate & work effectively with people of differing educational & cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides evaluation and treatment of patients referred by medical staff; provides clinical expertise to the multidisciplinary therapy staff, and serves as a resource for the occupational therapy staff for clinical guidance, practice and ethics.
  • In the Activities Therapist role provides for an ongoing program of activities designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each patient.
  • Provide supervision for OT/COTA student education programs
