About The Position
Select Medical Rehabilitation in Tallahassee is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist to work in critical illness recovery and inpatient rehabilitation at Select Specialty Hospital - Tallahassee. The hospital provides post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery, as well as rehabilitation for people with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputations, and multiple traumas. The Occupational Therapist evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans according to patient needs and physician direction. The role also includes directing discipline-specific therapy services, designing functional treatment programs that support patients' return to community activities, and educating patients, families, students, coworkers, and oneself.
Requirements
- Current and valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist, or eligibility for state licensure.
- Certified BLS, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans according to patient needs and physician direction.
- Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
- Design functional treatment programs that support patients' effective return to community activities.
- Educate patients, families, students, coworkers, and oneself.
- Perform other professional duties related to patient care, development of discipline-specific therapy services, and program delivery.
