About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Augusta is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. The Occupational Therapist provides compassionate treatment to patients during their recovery. This is a PRN/per-diem, as-needed position in Augusta, Georgia, paying $56.00 per hour. An extensive orientation program is provided, and the role may offer potential opportunities for advancement to full-time employment. Part-time and per-diem employees may qualify for 401(k) participation after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment.
• Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants (OTAs), as well as occupational therapy and COTA students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitor patients’ responses to treatment.
• Participate in continuing education seminars and in-services.
