About The Position

Select Medical Rehabilitation is hiring a per diem Occupational Therapist for its acute rehabilitation unit housed inside Select Specialty Hospital in Madison. The unit provides care for people facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges associated with brain and spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The role pays $50 per hour and includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus. An extensive orientation program supports the transition into the setting, and strong performance may lead to potential full-time opportunities. The position includes a per diem benefits offering: employees may qualify for a 401(k) after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year, and part-time employees are eligible for the employee assistance program. Requirements

• Current and valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist, or eligibility for state licensure.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans in accordance with patient needs and physician direction.
• Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
• Design functional treatment programs that support patients’ effective return to community activities.
• Educate patients, families, students, co-workers, and self.
• Perform other professional duties associated with patient care, developing discipline-specific therapy services, and designing program delivery.
