About The Position

Centerpoint Health – Georgetown, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to provide acute-care occupational therapy services. The role supports patients in developing, recovering, and maintaining occupational skills through assessment, individualized planning, treatment, progress monitoring, and education. The therapist also supports discharge planning and supervises or delegates care to certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians in accordance with applicable laws and standards.

Requirements

• Current licensure in occupational therapy.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Kentucky state licensure for Occupational Therapy.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover, and maintain occupational skills.
• Assess patients’ ability to safely and effectively perform occupational skills.
• Design an appropriate plan of care, including the type and frequency of treatment.
• Implement treatment plans using appropriate modalities.
• Document subjective and objective findings of patient progress.
• Monitor and modify plans of care as needed and seek consultation when necessary.
• Educate patients and their families or caregivers about patient deficits.
• Plan or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and the treatment setting.
• Provide information about appropriate selection and use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Supervise and delegate care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to licensing laws, state regulations, and practice standards.
