About The Position

Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Springfield is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to provide inpatient rehabilitation care. The hospital is a 60-bed facility serving patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions. The role involves developing specialized treatment plans to support patients in regaining well-being and function, including through exercise and the use of prosthetic or orthotic devices. The Occupational Therapist works with patients, families, nursing staff, and other team members in a fast-paced environment. The hospital accepts new graduates.

Requirements

• Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current and unrestricted Occupational Therapy license in the state where services are rendered.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Passion for helping others and ability to work as a team player.

Responsibilities

• Develop specialized treatment plans to help patients regain well-being and function through exercise and/or prosthetic and orthotic devices.
• Communicate patient progress or problems to the supervisor and other team members.
• Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
• Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain equipment and the work area in a safe and clean condition.
• Perform job responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, professional standards, and applicable state and federal laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
