About The Position

SSM Health Rehabilitation at DePaul Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide acute-care therapy. DePaul Hospital is a 450-bed hospital serving north and northwest St. Louis County, Missouri, and neighboring areas of Illinois. It is a Level II trauma center and Level I STEMI center, and is accredited by The Joint Commission as a Center of Excellence for Total Joint Replacement and a Comprehensive Center of Excellence for Stroke. The therapy department participates in research and program advancement. This is a full-time weekend-option position requiring four 8-hour shifts per weekend and a commitment to work 48 out of 52 weekends per year. The Occupational Therapist evaluates patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans according to patient needs and physician direction. The role also includes directing discipline-specific therapy services, educating patients and others, and contributing to therapy service development and program delivery.

Requirements

Valid state license or eligibility for state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
Certified BLS, or completion of BLS certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans in accordance with patient needs and physician direction.
Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
Design functional treatment programs that support patients’ effective return to community activities.
Educate patients, families, students, coworkers, and self.
Perform other professional duties related to patient care, development of discipline-specific therapy services, and design of program delivery.
