Occupational Therapist role in an acute care hospital setting. The position treats patients with orthopedic conditions, amputations, Parkinson’s disease, arthritis, and other progressive neurological disorders, and requires experience with dynamic, functional, and static splints. The unit accepts first-time travelers, and local candidates are accepted at the same rate. The standard schedule is five 8-hour days, with flexibility to consider four 10-hour days. Weekends and holidays are part of the rotation; weekend coverage is every other weekend. There is no call. The position may float within the facility and scope of practice to Piedmont Fayette’s outpatient facility as needed. A manager reviews the candidate profile and confirmation within 48 hours after the candidate signs and confirmation is sent to determine fit with the unit, schedule, and expertise. An Aya offer is available only if the candidate passes clinical review within RTO guidelines and meets facility requirements. Requested time off is limited to a maximum of seven days. Holiday expectations depend on the number of major holidays during the assignment: work the one holiday if one falls during the assignment; work both if two fall during it; or work two if three fall during it. Full compliance is required to start on time; otherwise, the start may be pushed back two weeks because orientation is biweekly. Non-billable orientation hours are determined by contract length (for example, 8 hours for an 8-week assignment and 10 hours for a 10-week assignment).
