About The Position

This role involves providing occupational therapy services to hospitalized patients with physical and cognitive functional deficits. The therapist will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure functional independence and safe discharge.

Requirements

Active Michigan Occupational Therapist (OT) license required.
Minimum 2 years of recent Inpatient Rehabilitation (IPR) and Acute Care OT experience required.
Current AHA BLS certification required.
Experience evaluating and treating hospitalized patients with physical and cognitive functional deficits required.
Strong skills in ADL retraining, functional mobility, therapeutic activities, and adaptive equipment.
Experience developing individualized treatment plans focused on functional independence and safe discharge.
Strong patient assessment skills.
Strong progress documentation skills.
Strong discharge planning skills.
Strong patient/family education skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with PT, SLP, nursing, physicians, case management, and other interdisciplinary team members.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and treat hospitalized patients with physical and cognitive functional deficits.
Retrain patients in Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
Improve functional mobility.
Utilize therapeutic activities.
Prescribe and train patients on adaptive equipment.
Develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional independence and safe discharge.
Document patient progress.
Participate in discharge planning.
Educate patients and families.
Collaborate effectively with PT, SLP, nursing, physicians, case management, and other interdisciplinary team members.
