About The Position

The Iowa Veterans Home is accepting applications for an Occupational Therapist. This position implements highly structured occupational therapy programs to teach activities of daily living, improve perceptual motor, and strengthening exercises. Encourages and recommends involvement in appropriate therapeutic program modalities.

Requirements

Licensure or a limited permit to practice as an Occupational Therapist as issued by the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners.

Designated positions in this job class require applicants to obtain the required Commercial Drivers License and endorsements within a period of time as determined by the appointing authority at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

Develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans based on clinical records, observation or physician referrals.
Dysphagia evaluations
Fabricates adaptive equipment and splints
Administers standardized tests and assessment tools for evaluation
Other duties as assigned
