About The Position

Discovery at Home is seeking an Occupational Therapist in Sarasota Bay, FL, to serve the Discovery Village Sarasota Bay and the Woodlands Village campuses. This PRN position offers flexible work hours, primarily within assisted and independent living communities, with potential for home visits. The patient population is mainly geriatric, with cases covered under Medicare Part A Home Health and some Part B. New graduates are supported and mentored, and previous home health experience is preferred but not required. Sponsorship for work in the United States is available.

Requirements

Graduation from an Occupational Therapy program.
State license as an Occupational Therapist (eligible for FL state licensure).
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Current CPR certification.
Completion of a Level 2 background screening in accordance with Florida AHCA requirements (including fingerprinting and background screening through the AHCA Clearinghouse).
Open to candidates who require sponsorship to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in home health is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide occupational therapy services primarily within assisted and independent living communities.
Conduct home visits within the community as needed.
Manage a caseload of primarily geriatric patients, with cases under Medicare Part A Home Health and some Part B.
Determine own caseload and work schedule, subject to scheduling agreements with patients.
Hone skills with a supportive team and achieve excellent work/life balance.
