PRN Occupational Therapist Assistant - Acute Care
About The Position
PT Solutions is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to provide acute care rehabilitation therapy at Northeast Regional Medical Center in partnership with PT Solutions. The hospital is a 93-bed facility with a level III trauma center and a broad range of medical and surgical services, as well as a connection to Kirkville’s osteopathic medical education community. The assistant prepares equipment for treatment and supports an Occupational Therapist with patient rehabilitation activities. The role involves building positive relationships with patients, their families, clinicians, and other hospital staff, and helping patients work toward and exceed their functional goals. This is a PRN position requiring two weekend day shifts per month, one major holiday, and one minor holiday.
Requirements
- Graduate of an ACOTE-approved occupational therapy assistant program.
- Current or pending state licensure.
- Basic Life Support certification.
Responsibilities
- Prepare equipment for treatment and assist an Occupational Therapist with rehabilitative activities for patients.
- Establish strong relationships with patients to help them exceed their functional goals.
- Demonstrate a positive connection with patients, patient families, fellow clinicians, and other hospital team members.
- Build and maintain relationships throughout the hospital, including with physicians, case management, and nurses.
