About The Position

A family in the Village Park area of Encinitas, California, is seeking an occasional babysitter for their active, happy 7.5-month-old child. Care is intermittent backup care on weekdays when the child cannot attend daycare because of a common cold, low-grade fever, or scheduled daycare closures. Scheduled closures are generally communicated 1–2 weeks in advance; sick-care requests are generally communicated 12–24 hours in advance. Applicants do not need to be available for every request, and there are no guaranteed hours. The position is ongoing, with a start date of November 25, 2026. Typical care hours are weekdays from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The position pays $32 per hour. The family provides a car seat for emergency transportation.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of paid professional infant-care experience
• CPR certified or willing to become certified
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Able to provide two childcare-related references from a professional setting
• Able to successfully clear a background and social media screening
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Reliable vehicle to transport the child in emergencies
