About The Position

The Babysitter supervises and cares for children left in the babysitting room at The Pointe at Ballwin Commons while their guardians use the recreation facilities. The role is responsible for children’s well-being, communicating with parents or guardians about children’s activities and behavior, and keeping the room organized and safe. The position requires prior work experience with children and availability to work mornings and days.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must be able to work mornings and days.
• Prior work experience with children is essential.
• Ability to work with the public and staff professionally.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently without routine supervision.
• Maintain a positive self-image and department image for the City of Ballwin.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental staff, community organizations, and the general public.
• Ability to communicate and understand children’s needs well enough to provide safe and efficient childcare.
• Ability to develop and maintain a professional working relationship with parents and children involved with the programs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children ages 3 months to 8 years while their guardians use the recreation facility.
• Be responsible for the well-being of all children under the staff member’s care.
• Collect admission tickets.
• Communicate with parents or guardians about children’s activities and behavior during their time in the babysitting room.
• Keep the babysitting room organized and safe for children.
