About The Position

The MOPS Worker supports the school and parish community by providing safe, nurturing, and engaging care for the children of MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) attendees during scheduled meetings. The role creates a welcoming, structured, and positive environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to learn and play. The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, and enthusiastic about working with children while fostering positive relationships with families and fellow staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to supervise and manage a group of children calmly, patiently, and effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with children and families.
• Dependable, responsible, and attentive, with a genuine interest in supporting children's well-being and development.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and follow established procedures.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and respectful environment for all children.

Nice To Haves

• College coursework in education or child development.
• Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, daycare, camp, or similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage an assigned group of children, ensuring appropriate care and attention throughout the program.
• Maintain a safe environment and prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of all children.
• Plan and participate in age-appropriate games, activities, crafts, and quiet-time routines.
• Establish and maintain a calm, respectful, and structured environment that encourages positive behavior and interaction.
• Assist with snack time, cleanup, and transitions between activities.
• Foster positive, welcoming relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff members.
• Follow established program guidelines, procedures, and safety expectations.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming childcare space.
