About The Position

Jovie is hiring experienced, caring childcare providers to support Seattle-area and Eastside-area families during the holiday season. Babysitters choose at least two regular days each week through January 4, and Jovie builds their schedule around those days. Available patterns include Saturday and Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, four-hour shifts, or any other two or more days that fit the employee’s availability. Babysitters are assigned to families on their chosen days as care is requested and may have the opportunity to build relationships with repeat families. The position pays $23–$25 per hour, depending on experience, with overtime when applicable. Babysitters who keep their scheduled days can earn a $100 bonus for every 50 hours worked between November 16 and January 4. Training is paid, and CPR and First Aid training are provided at no cost. Eligible full-time team members receive PTO, paid holidays, a healthcare stipend, and retirement matching. Payday is every two weeks.

Requirements

At least one year of childcare experience outside family and friends; nannying, babysitting, daycare, preschool, teaching, camp, and church nursery experience count.
Commit to at least two regular days per week through January 4.
Be dependable, warm, and professional.
Communicate well with parents and children.
Have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Provide three references: two childcare-related and one character reference.
Be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

Provide safe, nurturing care for infants and children in families’ homes.
Manage meals, naps, and daily routines.
Engage children with reading, play, and age-appropriate activities.
Update parents on how the day went.
