Occasional Private Tutor
About The Position
A family in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, is seeking an occasional private tutor for their 13-year-old son, who is in 8th grade. The position is expected to start in November 2026 and is long-term. Tutoring is needed on an as-needed basis, approximately 1–4 times per month, for 1–2 hours per session, with no guaranteed hours. Sessions may be scheduled on weekdays except Thursdays or on weekends, anytime between 4:30 PM and 8:00 PM. The tutor will primarily help the student prepare for tests and keep up with the school curriculum in math, English, and science. The student has tests approximately every two weeks, and tutoring needs will vary depending on the subject and study materials. Compensation is $45–$50 per hour.
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- At least 2 years of paid, professional relevant experience.
- CPR certified or willing to become certified.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Able to provide 2 childcare-related references from a professional setting.
- Able to successfully clear a background and social media screening.
Responsibilities
- Help the student prepare for tests in math, English, and science.
- Provide support with the 8th-grade school curriculum.
- Review study materials and help the student prepare for upcoming tests.
