About The Position
We are seeking a Board Eligible Physician specializing in Obstetrics & Gynecology for a Locum Tenens position. This is an inpatient, call-only role covering every 5th weekend, from Friday 5pm to Monday 5am. The coverage is needed due to a vacancy until a new provider starts in November. The average daily patient volume is 5, with 0-2 admissions per day and 0-5 phone consults per shift. The department has 16 beds (8 LDRP, 8 couplet/GYN) and uses the Epic EMR system. Hospital privileges are not required, but temporary privileges are available.
Requirements
- Board Eligible required
- MO License
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
Nice To Haves
- Low risk pregnancy management
- High risk pregnancy management
- FHR interpretation - NST/CST/FSE
- OB Ultrasounds (Level I/Screening (viability), Level II/Targeted (anatomic), Amniocentesis)
- Routine delivery (Vaginal, Low forceps)
- Decision-making for c-section
- Complicated delivery (C-section, Breech, Multiple births, Abruptions, VBAC's, Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations)
- Office/minor gynecology - IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.
- Surgical gynecology (Open, Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor only - tubal ligation, LOA's, chronal tubation, Operative/major (includes diagnostic) - ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Provide weekend coverage for labor and delivery unit
- Manage routine and complicated deliveries
- Perform cesarean sections and other surgical procedures
- Provide gynecological consultations and minor procedures
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other providers
