Oak Street Health’s New Graduate Nurse Practitioner Fellowship in Adult Primary Care is a paid, 12-month program developed in formal collaboration with the University of Michigan School of Nursing. Based in a value-based care model that emphasizes quality of care, the fellowship supports new nurse practitioners in developing the skills and confidence to care for older adults. Fellows build their own patient panels, learn from multiple preceptors, and participate in didactic learning designed to build on their graduate training. The program has cohorts beginning in September and March each year. Fellows are expected to work at Oak Street Health for at least one year after completing the fellowship. The annual salary specified for the North Linden location is $100,000. The fellowship is intended for eligible family, adult, or adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioners who have not yet worked as an NP. Applicants must meet the stated graduation, adult RN experience, academic, examination, and licensing criteria, and must reside in or be willing to relocate to the program location for at least two years. The work involves a commitment to adult primary care, collaborative interprofessional care, and Oak Street Health’s population-health model and values. Applicants first submit a CV for review. Eligible applicants are invited to complete a full application, including two short essays, three professional references, and supporting materials such as transcripts and applicable licenses. Required references include one current or recent supervisor and two preceptors, program directors, or faculty members. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
