About The Position

Citizens Memorial Hospital is hiring a full-time Nutritional Services Worker for its Nutritional Services Department in Buffalo, Missouri. The role is based at Colonial Springs Healthcare Center, a 134-bed long-term care and skilled nursing center that includes memory care units serving people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The worker supports food preparation, meal service, sanitation, and kitchen and dining-area stocking. The posting also describes cook duties, including following menus and recipes and working with nutritional aides.

Requirements

Communication skills.
Obtain Family and Friends CPR certification within six months of employment.
Cook position requirement: Food Handlers License; the employer will assist in obtaining it.
Ability to stand for 90% of the day and sit for the remaining 10%.

Nice To Haves

Experience is preferred; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Keep the workspace clean and clutter-free.
Use the dishwasher effectively.
Communicate with residents and coordinate effectively with meal service.
Assist with preparation of the salad bar and desserts.
Serve residents at mealtimes.
Stock food shipments as they arrive at the facility.
Practice proper sanitation.
For cook duties: update the menu board in the break room and dining room.
For cook duties: follow menus and recipes and observe appropriate food temperatures.
For cook duties: work with two nutritional aides.
Communicate with coworkers, other departments, and residents’ family members.
Prepare and pass drinks and meals in the dining room.
Greet and serve customers positively.
Restock the kitchen, dining room, pantry, and break room.
