About The Position

The Nutrition Services Aide helps prepare therapeutic and modified diets for patients and prepares meals for employees, visitors, and special functions. The role includes maintaining food temperatures, following recipes and orders, portioning and assembling meals according to menus and diet instructions, supporting patients with menu completion, and cleaning assigned areas. The aide may also deliver late patient trays, supplements, nourishments, and special requests.

Requirements

• Possession of a food handler's permit, if mandated by state or county regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Training in food preparation for therapeutic diets.
• Recent institutional cooking experience and special function cooking experience.
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper temperatures for hot and cold foods.
• Interpret written recipes and follow written and/or verbal orders, requests, and instructions.
• Break down carts and remove scraps from patient trays.
• Assemble and deliver late patient trays, supplements, nourishments, and special requests as needed.
• Portion, weigh, and garnish food according to menus and specific diet instructions.
• Assemble patient trays to meet timetables.
• Assist patients in completing menus.
• Clean and sanitize all assigned areas.
• Organize, plan, and manage time effectively to complete assignments.
• Help prepare therapeutic and modified diets and meals for employees, visitors, and special functions.
