About The Position

The Nutrition Services Aide helps prepare therapeutic and modified diets for patients and prepares meals for employees, visitors, and special functions. The role supports patient well-being by preparing and delivering meals and meeting specific dietary instructions.

Requirements

• Possess a food handler's permit if mandated by state or county regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Training in food preparation for therapeutic diets.
• Recent institutional cooking experience and special-function cooking experience.
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper temperatures for hot and cold foods.
• Interpret written recipes and follow written and verbal orders, requests, and instructions.
• Break down carts and remove scraps from patient trays.
• Assemble and deliver late patient trays, supplements, nourishments, and special requests as needed.
• Portion, weigh, and garnish food according to menus and specific diet instructions.
• Assemble patient trays according to required timetables.
• Assist patients in completing menus.
• Clean and sanitize assigned areas.
• Organize, plan, and manage time effectively to complete assignments.
