About The Position

The Nutrition Services Aide assembles, delivers, and picks up room service and standard patient trays. The position performs food preparation duties, including preparing cold foods, and may work in different department areas such as food service, the tray line, and dishwashing. The aide follows food safety and cleanliness regulations. This is an entry-level food service position.

Responsibilities

• Communicate directly with Nutrition Services management about issues that arise during the shift.
• Complete and submit all HACCP and sanitation paperwork before the shift ends.
• Assemble, prepare, deliver, pick up, and sanitize patient trays.
• Prepare cold foods for patient meals.
• Greet and assist patients and residents, and ensure trays are properly set up before leaving their rooms.
• Check all trays for accuracy.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
• Restock supplies, including silverware, plates, and dishes, as needed.
• Clean the dish room and dish machine after meals.
• Complete daily tasks assigned by the Nutrition Services Aide Lead.
• Take food temperatures to ensure items meet required temperature standards.
• Complete cleaning tasks before the shift ends.
• Follow confidentiality rules and regulations.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers.
• Tabulate bills using cash registers and price scanners.
• Reconcile daily deposits.
• Stock shelves, including condiments and utensils.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested; job specifications may be modified or updated at any time.
