About The Position

The Nutrition Service Associate performs patient tray assembly, meal distribution and service, general sanitation, and cleaning and use of equipment. The role participates in organizing and stocking food and supplies, assists production staff with preparing and assembling menu items, and assists with catering event delivery and pickup. It also performs cleaning and organizing tasks.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in high school or in a high school equivalency program.
Understand written and verbal instructions; count and measure; and read simple instruments or gauges.
Communicate with patients, nursing staff, and guests regarding meal services.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Successful experience in food service, fast food operations, or a cashier position.

Responsibilities

Set up the tray assembly area, take food temperatures, tally food needs, and ensure the kitchen departs on time.
Serve the correct food items allowed by each patient's diet order.
Answer telephone calls, process diet orders, make tray tickets, relay messages, print computer reports and labels, tally patient meal counts, and complete clerical duties.
Perform diet office functions and prepare tube feedings and snack bags when trained.
Perform cleaning and organizing activities according to procedures.
Organize and stock food and supplies.
Assist production staff with preparing and assembling menu items.
Assist with catering event delivery and pickup.
Clean and use equipment.
