About The Position

The Nutrition Service Aide prepares and portions food, assembles and disassembles patient trays safely, and serves customers. The role includes delivering and retrieving patient trays, preparing and serving food in designated areas, and maintaining sanitary food-service equipment and work areas according to assigned schedules and procedures. The aide also provides service in cafeterias, doctors’ dining rooms, and other non-patient locations, adapting their approach to reflect the developmental level and cultural differences of the population served.

Requirements

Ability to communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing.
Basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Prepare and portion food appropriately for designated areas.
Plate and serve food.
Handle and store food safely according to HACCP standard operating procedures.
Sanitize equipment and work areas according to assigned schedules and designated procedures.
Wash and sanitize dishes and utensils.
Serve customers in cafeterias, doctors’ dining rooms, and other non-patient locations.
Provide care or service using approaches that reflect the developmental level and cultural differences of the population served.
Assemble and disassemble patient trays safely, and deliver and retrieve patient trays.
