About The Position

The Nutrition Service Associate supports food and nutrition services by assembling patient trays, distributing and serving meals, maintaining sanitation, and cleaning and using equipment. The role also involves organizing and stocking food and supplies, assisting production staff with preparing and assembling menu items, and delivering and picking up catering orders. Work schedule is variable.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in high school or in a high school equivalency program.
• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions, count and measure, and read simple instruments or gauges.
• Ability to communicate with patients, nursing staff, and guests about meal services.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Successful experience in a food service or fast-food operation, or in a cashier position.

Responsibilities

• Set up the tray assembly area, take food temperatures, tally food needs, and leave the kitchen on time.
• Serve food items permitted by each patient's diet order.
• Answer telephone calls, process diet orders, make tray tickets, relay messages, print computer reports and labels, tally patient meal counts, and complete clerical duties.
• Perform diet office functions and prepare tube feedings and snack bags when trained.
• Perform cleaning and organizing activities according to procedures.
• Organize and stock food and supplies.
• Assist production staff with preparing and assembling menu items.
• Assist with delivery and pickup for catering events.
• Clean and use equipment.
