About The Position

The Nutrition Assistant assists patients with menu selections and meal service based on physician-ordered diet parameters. The role collaborates with assigned nursing units to enhance the patient experience and supports patient and guest satisfaction initiatives. The position requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and appropriate action in a stressful environment. One year of customer service-related experience is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with assigned nursing units to enhance the patient experience.
• Assemble patient meal trays based on menu selections while complying with patients’ dietary requirements and restrictions.
• Assist with patient and guest satisfaction initiatives.
• Resolve, refer, and/or report service quality issues as appropriate.
• Ensure the patient meal process is completed within expected timeframes.
• Help patients make menu selections that comply with their dietary requirements and restrictions.
• Receive and respond to phone calls regarding patient and guest meal orders.
• Maintain and document food preferences, diet orders, and food allergies.
