About The Position

As a Nursing Technician with Corewell Health, you will provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Provider. You will perform basic nursing skills, observe patients, and communicate observations to other members of the care team. The role contributes to patient and family care by supporting safe, quality care in a cost-effective manner.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days, or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Collect and report patients’ and families’ physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs in coordination with and as directed by the RN or Provider.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Provide direct patient care under the direction of the RN or Provider, following clinical policies, procedures, and department standard work.
• Provide input into the development of individualized plans of care.
• Explain the Nursing Technician role to patients, families, and health team members.
• Support safe, quality patient care in a cost-effective manner.
• Clean the patient’s environment, work area, and equipment, and report equipment malfunctions to appropriate department or unit personnel.
• Demonstrate high moral and ethical standards.
• Advocate for the privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient, staff, and organizational data.
