About The Position

The Nursing Faculty position is a full-time, 10-month faculty role seeking a qualified professional with expertise in medical-surgical nursing. The successful candidate will provide full-time clinical teaching, with occasional didactic responsibilities, and participate in department-wide and college-wide service activities and academic advising. Clinical teaching includes direct supervision of students in a variety of community settings and in the simulation lab. The position is part of the full-time faculty bargaining unit represented by the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), Maryland.

Requirements

• Hold a current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maryland.
• Hold at least a Master's degree in Nursing.
• Demonstrate a strong foundation in nursing theory and clinical practice.
• Have current bedside nursing experience.
• Have experience in classroom and/or clinical nursing education.
• Be able to perform physical tasks for 8–12 hours in a clinical setting without jeopardizing client or student safety, including pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, and carrying more than 50 pounds.
• Be able to perform fine movements and manipulate instruments and equipment.
• Have auditory ability sufficient to monitor and assess clients' health needs.
• Have visual ability sufficient for observation and assessment necessary for client care.

Nice To Haves

• Additional experience in pediatric nursing.
