About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital - Nashville West is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants provide compassionate patient care during recovery. The position is per diem/PRN and uses 12-hour shifts. Compensation is $24.00 per hour, with shift differentials for nights and weekends, and a $1,500 sign-on bonus. The hospital provides an extensive orientation program and notes that strong performance may lead to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per-diem employees are eligible for 401(k) after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year, and may use the employee assistance program.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant certification, or experience in a related field such as medical assisting.
• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient services including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Clean instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
